Spring into BushBank: Explore a Local Restoration Project

As Spring arrives across Victoria, so too does a fresh opportunity to witness large-scale restoration in Action. Through the BushBank Private Land Stream, an initiative of the Victorian Government’s $77million BushBank program, thousands of hectares of native habitat on private land are being restored.

Cassinia Environmental, the Key Delivery Partner for the program, is inviting landowners, community members and conservations to take part in a series of BushBank events this Spring. These events are designed to showcase what has been achieved so far, highlight the unique revegetation models being used and inform curious landowners about the program and how to get involved.

To date, BushBank Private Land Stream has secured 8,699 hectares across 53 projects, already restoring 4,800 hectares of the 20,000 hectare goal. Each property offers unique challenges and opportunities and each landowner has different motivations in getting on board. One commonality however is the collective impact these restoration projects are having, as they create long-term conservation outcomes for the Australian landscape.

BushBank isn’t just for experienced conservations, but open to any landowner with over 20 hectares who is ready to make a difference using their land.

About BushBank Program

The Victorian Government’s BushBank program provides a unique opportunity for private landowners to play a meaningful role in addressing climate change and supporting wildlife, leaving a legacy for generations to come.

The ground-breaking program involves the planting of millions of native trees and shrubs to pull carbon from the air and create healthy habitat for Victorian wildlife.

A range of threatened species will benefit from the restored habitat including the Mallee fowl, powerful owl, southern brown bandicoot, southern greater glider and alpine bog skink.

Delivered by Cassinia Environmental, the BushBank Private Land Stream supports private landowners to undertake restoration projects. Restored sites are permanently protected by Trust for Nature with conservation covenants.

Cassinia Environmental invites you to join us at Spring into BushBank! this season to discover the powerful conservation work happening in your local community and explore how you could make an impact with your property.
