About the role
The main objective of the role is undertaking site assessments and developing Native Vegetation Restoration Plans for land secured for the BushBank program. You will be mapping ecological values and site characteristics, determining the areas for restoration, and thinking about the best way to revegetate, what species to use and how to manage threats and risks to a successful project. You may be working with private landowners on their land or across sites that have been purchased specifically for the BushBank program.
In addition, the role provides assistance to Landowners and the BushBank team on areas of ecological management and monitoring, including improving systems and processes.
Key tasks
- Undertake site assessments with Landowners, Trust For Nature representatives and/or Cassinia team members.
- Utilise project management software and input field data into an online database.
- Complete high quality site assessment reports and Native Vegetation Restoration Plans, using in-field applications and technology, including GIS and GPS.
- Liaise with Landowners participating in restoration projects and provide regular updates and reports to the Restoration Manager and Project Manager of BushBank.
- Work closely with the entire BushBank team within Cassinia Environmental.
- Communicate with contractors and/or the Revegetation Manager in the development of Native Vegetation Restoration Plans and costing projects.
- Work collaboratively with Cassinia’s key partners in project delivery, including the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA), Trust for Nature (TfN) and co-funders.
- Organise and manage multiple tasks in an efficient manner.
- Communicate professionally with Landowners involved in restoration projects.

Salary
$65-$80K salary + superannuation. Salary offered is subject to qualifications, skills & experience.
4-year Fixed Term Contract, Full-Time (0.8 FTE negotiable).
