The Locksley project is situated on a 500ha block amidst the vast crop lands of Northern Victoria, offering a refuge for local wildlife. 35 old trees of significance have been protected, along with the surrounding remnant vegetation. Ongoing management will see extensive revegetation expand the site’s role as a habitat island in the heavily modified surrounding landscape. The project’s revegetation works are on track to provide a canopy of River Red Gum and Yellow Box trees with an understory consisting of various wattles and native flowers.
