Position Summary
Purpose of the Role
To ensure Cassinia’s revegetation program in North-West Victoria is managed efficiently and
effectively, delivering high quality revegetation projects that protect, restore and enhance
biodiversity so that landscapes are healthy, connected and productive.
Key Responsibilities
Proposing, scoping, planning, delivery and administration of revegetation projects:
- Develop and implement revegetation and ongoing management plans for projects in North-West Victoria.
- Manage the recruitment, training, scheduling and development of the North West Vic Revegetation team.
- Manage seed and seedling procurement requirements for Revegetation Projects in North-West Vic.
- Conduct site visits/inspections on properties to determine works required to enable successful revegetation results.
- Liaise with and coordinate contractors for the delivery of revegetation projects.
- Develop relationships with neighbours and other local stakeholders to aid the delivery of revegetation projects.
- Assist with property management including coordinating lease agreements (where appropriate), infrastructure and contractors to deliver services.
- Provide support for revegetation work.
- Provide ecological advice around species composition, seeding rates, revegetation methods and timing.
- Conduct regular monitoring of revegetation projects, including participation in formal revegetation monitoring for the BushBank program.
- Seek further opportunities to expand revegetation/conservation efforts in North-West Victoria.
- Participate in the development of a strategy for project growth in North-West Victoria, including property portfolio and staff resource growth.
Key Skills & Experience
- Degree or certificate in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management or related fields. Demonstrated experience is favoured over level of education.
- At least 5 years working ecological experience.
- Large-scale revegetation experience is highly regarded.
